TV Time

August 24, 2005 at 3:06 am (Uncategorized)

After my roommate Aaron and I had an unsuccessful session at the local Irish Pub’s trivia, I spent the evening on the couch watching almost the entire season of Entourage while playing Internet poker.  Man, Entourage is awesome.  Go watch it if you haven’t, yet.

As for the Internet poker, I played a $10 tournament and won the whole thing for a little over $500.  That’d be great, except I was playing cash games at the same time and lost about $300 there.  Oh well, still a tidy profit.

Oh yeah, I was also on TV today!  For those of you that don’t know, on the World Series of Poker on ESPN, they had a special feature for a roshambo (rock/paper/scissors) tournament I was in.  It was a $200 buyin, and I was bought in by Golden Palace Casino.  I appeared in a ridiculous costume that consisted of a GP t-shirt, a green wig, a police helmet with “Golden Palace” on it, and “Golden Palace” written on my hands in stick-on lettering.  So I had some TV time today, along with my roomate and our summer house-guest Rick Wampler, who actually got some audio time.  I’ll try to get some screen captures for you guys…

If you’re wondering what the music is on my home page, it’s the infamous “Robbie Raps” written by me at age 7.  Yeah, I was a cool kid.  If you don’t have the Quicktime plugin, download it and hear my fresh lyrics.

A weekend in Arizona

August 23, 2005 at 3:53 pm (Uncategorized)

Just got back to Vegas on Sunday night from a weekend in Arizona.  Fenix TX played two reunion shows, one in Tempe and another in Tucson, and it was interesting hanging out with the band that got me started in my touring career.  They want me to go back out on tour with them in October, but I’m not sure if that’s gonna happen or not… it’s been awhile since I’ve toured, and I’m just getting comfy in Vegas.  We’ll see.

The Transit War played the Tucson show, too, which was cool.  I haven’t seen them since before they left for tour in like May or something.  It was kind of a bummer for them since the show was so poorly attended compared to the Phoenix show, but they still had a good time, I think.

I also got to check out a few Arizona casinos, and I continued my worst week by losing another $300 or so when a guy pulled out a miracle card to win a big pot.  Thank god that week is over!

Just spent yesterday hanging out with Brad and Courtney… they came out to Vegas for a couple days, and we ate the delicious Aladdin buffet.  After hanging out with him and the rest of the TWar guys, I’m not sure if I’m heading to San Diego this weekend or not.  We’ll see…
