Welcome to Vegas
Eight months in and I finally get invited to a cool party. I met up with Phil “The Unabomber” Laak earlier in the week and he invited me to an Antonio Esfandiari BBQ today. I showed up with my roommate Aaron, and we had some BBQ’ables and hung out with Antonio’s friends. They had a rule where if you said the word “fuck” you’d have to do 20 pushups, counted out by the crowd. Luckily I didn’t slip up.
Then Antonio had his “show” where a few magicians performed, we saw some great breakdancing by a dancin’ trio, and we saw a fire show by some local pros, I guess. If this is how Vegas people party, I don’t know if I’ll ever fit in. Fucking crazy shit, guys.
I chatted with Phil Laak and his girl Jennifer Tilly for a bit, got to meet Antonio finally, and saw Phil Helmuth without his sunglasses for the first time.

High Stakes Poker 2
Just wrapped up filming two excruciatingly long days for GSN’s High Stakes Poker 2. The players played two 14 hour days, which meant around 16 hour work days for me. Other than the long hours, it was great poker to watch. Daniel Negreanu played both days, the entire time. Other notables included Phil “Unabomber” Laak making a killing, Shawn Sheikhan getting all in in the 5th hand he played and losing to Doyle Brunson, chatting with Jen Harman about dieting, and Jennifer Tilly roaming the set. Fun times. And to top it all off, I took a 15 minute break at one point and hit a jackpot on a slot machine…
