I have a crush on my new bank
So I just switched banks to CitiBank, and as Buxx pointed out tonight, I have a crush on my new bank.
I’m getting ready to go to the Caribbean this weekend and needed to take out some cash for the poker I’ll be playing out there, for a painting I’m buying for a friend, and for this evening’s gambling excursion. My last two banks had a daily ATM withdrawl limit of $300 and $500. CitiBank’s ATM let me take out $1000 all at once. When I realized it was counting out bills to pay me, Buxx quipped that I should enjoy all those $20’s. Their ATM paid me $750 in $50’s and the rest in $20’s, with a $10 to round out the G. How rad is that? Even better, the $50’s turned out to be lucky when gambled at the Palms Casino.
The ATM visit was just icing on the cake, though. So their online deal is this: you open a checking and a savings account, and it’s all free. No direct deposit needed, no minimums (I think), no monthly fees. OK, well Washington Mutual did that for me. But CitiBank’s online interface is slick. Their login is super simple, a beef I had with one of my other online banks. My username is my email address, and it didn’t complain about my password being too “easy” like my last bank did. You can transfer to and from other banks. Their ATM’s are in every 7-11, so I can take money out of any 7-11 ATM for free, which is hella convenient. Oh, and their savings account pays 5% interest, which is a sick rate. And I can even go into the actual branch to do banking without fees. It’s really a sick deal.
Even the ATM card is cool… a semi-transparent blue.
So yeah, I have a huge crush on my bank. I think I need to call them up and do a commercial for them. Now I just gotta get my roommates on the same page so they can pay rent and it will go directly into my bank account.
