Yes, I am being literal.  I bought a night light tonight at Walmart, and I was so excited to come home and use it.

I’m sure you all know by now that I hate the light; I’m a freakin’ vampire.  Hell, I tin foil’ed my windows so the sun can’t come in and disturb me.  I discovered another place I’m not a fan of light… my bathroom.  Normal circumstances?  Well ok.  But after a late night with a pounding head, not so much.  Or even on a normal day in the middle of the night… I wake up to go to the bathroom, and the light wakes me up too much where I can’t fall back asleep easily.

Easy fix, so I go to the 99c store and pick up a night light.  This is like 6 months ago.  I bring it home, go to plug it in, and realize I can’t.  See, the outlet in my bathroom is 2-prong, but it’s a single outlet with the light switch right above it.  So any night light has to be facing downwards, or it has to be really slim as to not interfere with the switch.  The shitty 99c store light had a grounded plug, so it would only go in right side up, which blocked the switch.  Instantly moved that one to the hallway.

Over the past 6 months, I’ve looked at Targets and grocery stores for a night light that fit my requirements.  Oh, there’s plenty out there, but they’re like $6 for a sleek night light that only covers the plug hole.  I’m not paying $6 for a friggin’ night light.  I’ll gamble $100’s of dollars a day in a poker tournament, but $6?  No, I want to save the $4.

So today I come upon a night light at Walmart, and it’s everything I wanted in a night light.  It has a photo sensor so it shuts off when there’s light in there already.  It has an LED so it’s longer lasting and lower energy.  It doesn’t have a grounded plug so it can go upside down.  And it costs a mere $1.49.

I’ve already pissed twice since installing it, and I didn’t turn on the light either time.  Added bonus, I save a couple extra seconds off my day by not having to.

Thanks, Walmart.

Been in bed all week with a fever, and I’ve watched all of these movies.  Don’t ever want to see another movie again, thank you…
